To understand the present and the future, you need to know your past. Odesa community of Old Believers, with the blessing of the Old Believer Archdiocese of Ukraine, invites you to the exhibition "Old Believers of Ukraine: history, traditions and modernity".
The Old Believer Archdiocese of Ukraine has undertaken the Mission: to acquaint all willing residents of the cities and villages of the Odesa region with the preserved rich culture and religious life of the Old Believers of Ukraine; get acquainted with people who have preserved the Orthodox faith and values of their fathers: a strong family, conscientious work and helping one's neighbor; and also contribute to the revival of the glory and authority of the Holy Old Orthodox Church.
The exhibition will feature historical and modern photographs of churches and photographs from the life of Old Believers of all regions of Ukraine, unique books, Old Believer clothes and church accessories. Visitors to the exhibition will be able to familiarize themselves with the publishing materials of the Archdiocese (magazines, calendars, newspapers, etc.); with modern literature in the field of culture and life of the Old Believers of Ukraine and, in particular, the Odessa region. Live choral singing is presented as one of the central elements of the exhibition. Therefore, at the opening of the exhibition, the Bishop's Choir will perform Old Orthodox spiritual and church chanting.
