The well-known Ukrainian political scientist Vadym Karasev on his Facebook page told why Gennady Trukhanov will become the mayor of Odessa again.
"On the contrary, it will not become, but will continue to be. Because Odessa is complicated. And the usual inner-city matrices are not superimposed on it in any way. There are too many points of intersection of interests. "It's too thin an ice you're walking on, trying to preserve civil order and a healthy atmosphere in a city that seems to be both 'cotton' and oriented towards European values, which are traditionally supported by the pro-Ukrainian public," he said.
In his post, the political scientist emphasized that Gennady Trukhanov not only maintained this balance, but also made it clear that Odessa would not recognize strangers:
"Neither from one side, nor from the other. Because the owner-host here is him. And she will not notice. You will see this on November 15, when the second round of the mayoral elections will take place. Perhaps the most predictable of all possible ones."
