In Odessa, in the City Garden, the sculptural composition "Voice of Odessa" was solemnly opened. It is an old bronze gramophone, four sides of which are the facades of Odessa houses with many cozy details of Odessa houses and yards, which are so dear to Odessans.
"Such events always inspire me to work even harder. After all, you can worry about Odessa very much from posters, billboards and televisions, and you can work to preserve and revive our city," Gennady Trukhanov said.
The sculpture is dedicated to "sounding Odessa": great and famous Odessans whose voices and music personify Odessa.
"In the process of creating the sculpture, a very interesting creative discussion took place: we connected specialists, discussed, consulted and, as a result, a good composition turned out. Can you name another city about which so many songs have been written? There is no such thing. Because Odessa inspires and we will do everything to keep it that way," emphasized the honorary citizen of Odessa, Sergey Hrynevetskyi.
According to Trukhanov, today Odessa is being restored.
"The House of Russov, the House with the Atlanteans, the beginning of the reconstruction of the Liebman House. Despite the difficulties, we continue to work for the good of Odessa. Everything we do is for the sake of Odessa and for the people of Odessa," said the Odessa Mayor.
Another feature of the sound of the sculpture is the sound of the sea, the sound of the lighthouse, the cooing of pigeons under the roof, the melody of the hours on Duma Square, the chime of an old tram.
A QR code is installed on the sculpture, which will be read by smartphones and which will take the user to a specially created website www.voiceofodessa.com and will hear a sound "track" consisting of fragments of songs, compositions and reprises performed by Odessa talents.
