As part of the large-scale replacement of outdated networks and equipment, the company's specialists completed the renovation of the water supply at the Stepan Oleinyk descent.
The steel pipes have reached the end of their service life and new and durable ones have been laid in their place. Since the communications passed under the tram tracks and the highway, the work was carried out without excavation using the modern method of horizontally directed drilling. Thanks to this, it was not necessary to block traffic, and the water supply will be shut off for a long time.
Employees of the technical service laid a modern polyethylene pipe, the service life of which will be at least 50 years. In addition, 7 new wells with shut-off valves were installed, which will allow for local shutdowns if necessary.
Vodokanal specialists also replaced inlets on nearby houses and connected them to the new highway. Along with this, 4 new fire hydrants were installed instead of one old one.
Thus, users of the specified area will be able to receive high-quality and uninterrupted water supply services.
In turn, the director of the Infoksvodokanal branch, Igor Lysenko, emphasized that the company had modernized all the city's pumping stations. Now safe sodium hypochlorite is used there and European pumps are installed. At the same time, network renewal remains one of the company's priorities in the next year as well, because uninterrupted and high-quality water supply to Odessa residents depends on it.
