A gang of border guards who kidnapped people was detained in Odessa

The organizers of the group are recognized as active employees of the State Border Service of Ukraine.

During a special operation of the SBU in Odessa, a criminal group that kidnapped people and extorted money was neutralized. This is reported by the press center SBU.

It is curious that active border guards were part of the OPG. They terrorized residents of the Odessa region, kidnapped people and extorted money.

It was established that members of the group posed as law enforcement officers and illegally detained citizens under fictitious pretexts.

After that, money was "knocked out" of them for allegedly not being criminally responsible.

In addition, the perpetrators conducted unauthorized searches and robbed the homes of Odessa residents.

According to operational data, the organizer of the group and his accomplice are active employees of the State Border Service. They presented themselves to the victims as officers of the police, SBU and other law enforcement agencies.

The SBU officers detained two border guards - the organizers of a gang on the charge of kidnapping a person. The issue of notifying the detainee of suspicion and choosing a preventive measure in the form of detention by the court is resolved.

Urgent investigative and operational actions to establish all the circumstances of the offender and bring him to justice continue.
