The Joint Forces Operations Command, realizing the real threat to the life and health of persons crossing the demarcation line, decided to temporarily close the "Happiness" entry-exit checkpoint in the Luhansk region. This was reported in the press center of the OOS headquarters.
"Russian-occupation troops constantly demonstrate their disregard for humanitarian needs, health and life of peaceful Ukrainian citizens forced to be under temporary occupation and constantly cross the demarcation line. In violation of the cease-fire agreements, three times over the past day mortars and mounted anti-tank grenade launchers fired at the "Schastye" checkpoint, the message reads.
The command of the United Forces noted that the shelling of the "Schastye" checkpoint is a violation of the norms of international humanitarian law. Such actions of the Russian occupation forces endanger the life and health of both the civilian population and personnel working at the checkpoint. Thanks to the uninterrupted operation of this road corridor, people could escape from the difficult social and economic situation created by the occupation administration of the Russian Federation in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
