At the ski resort in Slavsky, Lviv Region, on the afternoon of January 1, a chairlift with tourists stopped. This was reported to the State Emergency Service.
At 13:35 p.m., the Rescue Service received information that the cable car had stopped due to the failure of the transformer substation. At that time, there were 74 people on the lift, including 13 children and three pregnant women. The air temperature was 1 degree Celsius.
At 14:20 p.m., employees of the mining and rescue unit of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine began the evacuation. At 16:05, all tourists were removed from the lift. 16 employees of the State Emergency Service took part in the rescue operation, and two units of special equipment were involved.
