"During the procedural management of the Prosecutor General's Office, five persons, including the organizer, were informed of the suspicion of kidnapping and torture of the former head of PJSC Neftegazdobych, and currently of the People's Deputy of Ukraine of the 127th convocation, as well as extortion of money from his relatives (art. 146, Article 189, Article XNUMX of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)", says the message.

it is reported that according to the investigation, in early 2012, the head of the leading gas production company was illegally kidnapped and held in inhumane conditions for more than three years, systematically asked and demanded from him and his relatives to pay a non-existent debt in the amount of 200 million US dollars.

"The investigation established that the organizer of the crime was his former business partner, a People's Deputy of several convocations, who in the past held the position of Minister of Transport and Communications of Ukraine. He involved several people in committing the crime, including representatives of criminality. The motives of the criminal offenders were the redistribution of income from the activity, as well as the company's shares among its beneficiaries," the message states.

Yes, a high-profile crime nine years ago was solved together with the employees of the Security Service of Ukraine.

"More than 40 searches were conducted on the territory of Ukraine with the aim of exposing the crime and bringing to justice the persons involved in its commission," the OGPU informs.
