The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court announced an indictment in the case of the former prosecutor of the General Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine, who offered 10 US dollars to members of the competition commission of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine. This was reported by the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office.
The ex-prosecutor offered money for a positive solution to the issue of employment for the position of head or deputy head of the NABU detective division.
Thus, the panel of judges, having reviewed the materials of the criminal proceedings, found the former prosecutor guilty of the crime provided for in part 1 of Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (offering an official to provide him with an illegal benefit for the performance by the official in the interests of the person who offers such a benefit, actions using official position). As a result, the court sentenced the accused to two years of imprisonment.
The SAP noted that the sentence enters into legal force 30 days after its announcement, unless an appeal is filed.
