The President established a new holiday in Ukraine - the Day of the Grape Grower and Winemaker

Ego will be celebrated annually on the second Sunday of November

President Volodymyr Zelensky signed Decree No. 403/2020 on the establishment of a professional holiday in Ukraine - the Day of the Grape Grower and Winemaker, which will be celebrated annually on the second Sunday of November. The head of state announced this during a working trip to Transcarpathia.

Speaking at the presentation of the regional development strategy until 2027, the president noted that this region has good potential in the production of organic products, in particular in viticulture and winemaking.

"This is an important component for agriculture, important for infrastructure and jobs in rural areas. Today I signed a decree establishing an official holiday in Ukraine - the Day of the Grape Grower and the Winemaker. I know that this was important for people who work in this area. This is a symbolic step that emphasizes respect for this profession," said Zelensky.

He also noted that the government and the relevant ministry should present a set of measures for the development of Ukrainian viticulture and winemaking.

"We often talk about ``economic nationalism.'' Let's make it so that Transcarpathian, Odesa, Kherson and, of course, Crimean wines are in no way inferior to Italian, Spanish and French wines in terms of quality and popularity," the president emphasized.
