A shocking story happened in the Carpathian Mountains on the night of September 15. A meeting of friends who came in their cars for a vacation with children ended in the death of two young people. Another five people were injured, including one child.
The tragedy occurred on Kukol, located near the city of Rakhiv. A company of 12 people, including two children aged 2 and 5, pitched tents in a forest glade, after which the men started a fire.
After some time after this, an explosion occurred. Two people who were closest to the fire died on the spot. Another five people were wounded by shrapnel - they were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Rescuers of the State Emergency Service found corroded metal fragments at the scene. According to preliminary data, it is a projectile from the First World War - there were fierce battles in this area a hundred years ago.
Specialists assume that the tourists started a bonfire in the very place where the projectile was in the ground. He exploded from the heat of the fire.
At the present time, the investigators entered information into the Unified Register of Pretrial Investigations under the qualification "Intentional murder" with the mark "accidental accident".
