The president does not want to raise the language issue anymore

According to the president, the most fair thing is not to raise the language issue, because everything necessary is in the legislation.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes that it is better not to raise language issues in Ukraine, and instead of language quotas on television, a system of encouraging the creation of Ukrainian-language content could work.

"I know that television broadcasters are not satisfied with the distribution of quotas on their channels. At that time, I myself did not quite support such an approach. I believed that this was not a matter of time, and said that if we want to develop high-quality Ukrainian-language TV content, we should invest money in it. It is very difficult to compete if the market for Russian-language content is larger, so people who shoot content in Russian can spend more money - and it is difficult to compete with Ukrainian-language content.

Therefore, it is not necessary to ban something there, I thought so, but simply to raise Ukrainian-language content... let's make a project for 5 years and not take taxes," said the president.

Zelensky believes that for many TV channels, the exemption from taxes would be a good incentive to create Ukrainian-language content, and they would have to pay all the taxes for programs in other languages.

Zelensky believes that the issue of language is sensitive and political, and there is no ideal law on such topics.

According to the president, the most fair thing is not to raise the language issue, because everything necessary is in the legislation. The single state Ukrainian language is enshrined in the Constitution.

At the same time, Zelensky notes that the law should be "clean and reasonable", absolutely understandable, so that there are no manipulations and tension due to the Russian language.

The president added that Russia is trying to "split" Ukraine on the topic of language, promoting propaganda about "civil war".
