The chairman of the Ukrainian delegation to the TCG for Donbass, Leonid Kravchuk, believes that the issue of Donbass and Crimea should be submitted to the All-Ukrainian referendum.
He announced this on the air of the channel "Ukraine 24", answering the question, what question should be submitted to the national referendum already now.
"The most painful question today is the question of Donbass and Crimea. It should be said in the referendum that the people are for Ukraine to be whole, independent, with the return of its territory. This is the main question of the referendum, not how to do it. The state, the government, the Verkhovna Rada should already present the method. And the people must say: "No, this cannot be, the entire territory of Ukraine is whole and independent, and it must belong to Ukraine," Kravchuk said.
He said that the annexation of Crimea and the war in Donbas are perceived differently by the political forces of Ukraine.
"Often politicians who actually support the Kremlin policy pretend to be patriots and announce their preferences on various political platforms. And the people literally cannot orient themselves in that regard, and what is the general opinion of the political forces. They differed on a fundamental issue. It is about peace and war, life and death. It is rare for people to disagree so deeply, and they do. Therefore, perhaps we will have to submit (to a referendum — Ed.) in order for people to say how life should be organized in those regions that today are not controlled by Ukraine, but are recognized as Ukrainian territories," says Kravchuk.
