The State Bureau of Investigation announced the suspicion of the people's deputy for the middle finger to Zelensky

He faces a prison term.

The State Bureau of Investigation announced a suspicion of hooliganism against non-faction MP Geo Leros for an obscene gesture in the walls of the parliament.

According to the press service of the GBR, "On November 11, 2021, on the instructions of the acting Prosecutor General, a written report was handed over to the People's Deputy of Ukraine for gross violation of public order in the session hall of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

As part of the investigation of the criminal proceedings, the investigators of the State Security Bureau established that on November 4, 2021, the elected official, speaking from the parliamentary rostrum, made insulting remarks about the highest officials of the state.

At the same time, he did not react to the comments of the presiding officer at the meeting, continued such actions even after the presiding microphone was turned off by the decision of the presiding officer. Realizing that the speech will not be recorded by the mass media, he showed an obscene gesture, demonstrating his disregard for generally accepted norms of morality and social environment."

According to the law enforcement officers, in these actions of the deputy, "the goal of creating one's own media and political image, increasing one's media recognition, attracting the attention of the mass media, society and other politicians to one's face can be clearly traced."

At the same time, the deputy, they say, abused his powers as a people's deputy to speak during the discussion of the candidacy of a member of the government.

Thus, Leros was charged with gross violation of public order on the grounds of clear disrespect for society (Part 1 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of a fine of up to 4 thousand non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens or arrest for a period of up to 6 months, or restriction of freedom for a period of up to 5 years.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, the question of choosing a measure of restraint is being resolved
