Candidates for ministers in the current government are proposed by several "personnel centers" - Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, the Office of the President and the top duo of "Servants of the People" - Davyd Arakhamia and Alexander Kornienko, but the final decision is made by President Volodymyr Zelensky. Ukrainskaya Pravda reports this with reference to sources in "Servant of the People".
As one of the deputies of "Servant of the People" who tried out for such a "competition" told: "Let's say David Arahamia calls or meets you and says: listen, don't you want to go to the government from us? And then they and Kornienko start questioning you, punching you. And if you agree, they are already offering you to Bankova."
According to UP interlocutors, if a candidate is approved by the party leadership, and by the prime minister, and most importantly by Bankova, then such a candidate will be examined by the so-called "small faction": the leaders of "Servants of the People", 15 deputies of Arakhamia and heads of committees from "servants".
Such a meeting regarding the current government candidates, according to the UP, took place in the middle of last week.
According to one of the members of the "small faction", now applicants for seats in the Cabinet of Ministers must pass an interview at Bankova. He emphasized that there "it is very important to talk objectively with Ze, because he is very picky now, and it will not work to simply talk to him."
They say that, in addition to Zelensky himself, officials at Bankova are confirmed by the head of the Office, Andrey Yermak, and Prime Minister Shmyhal.
The president also listens to the opinion of his first assistant Sergey Shefir and Ermak's deputy Kirill Tymoshenko.
But in general, it is Zelensky who decides whom the prime minister will propose, and whom the Rada will appoint to the Cabinet of Ministers.
One of the leaders of the "servants" said that the faction wants to promote its deputies and chairmen of committees to the government, so that the following list members can take their place.
According to the People's Deputies, this is how they will "grow up their deputies, drive the best through the government, and bring more people into the Rada."
