From September 1, three formats of education will operate in Ukrainian schools. Each region has its own, depending on the security situation. About this said Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during the meeting.
"On the part of OVA, there should be regular monitoring of the security situation in communities. Depending on the level of threats, the training format will be adopted - face-to-face, online or mixed," he said.
Shmyhal emphasized that where there is a threat to the life or health of children, there will be no offline, i.e. face-to-face, training.
"Local authorities best understand the situation in their own communities, and therefore the final decisions about the format of training will be made on the ground," the prime minister added.
Shmyhal also told that the Cabinet of Ministers decided to introduce a new form of education in distance schools.
"We are introducing a new form of education in selected distance schools in each region. Students will study the Ukrainian component of the school curriculum. It's 6-8 hours a week," he said.
According to him, the children will learn the rest of the subjects in the schools of the countries where they are.
The situation with shelters in schools
Currently, according to Shmyhal, 68% of educational institutions have various types of shelters.
"This makes it possible to place 4,7 million students and teachers there. But this is not enough. Local authorities should act more actively. The Government allocated money for shelter back in April - UAH 1,5 billion," he said.
In 2023, it is planned to arrange almost 1,5 thousand shelters, in total 5,4 thousand of them must be built. All of them must meet the criteria of reliability, accessibility and energy efficiency.
