The Cabinet of Ministers approved the indexation of pensions. More than 10 million pensioners fall under it. This is 2 million more than usual. The decision will enter into force on March 1, 2022.
The average increase is UAH 260, the smallest is UAH 100.
Indexation of 14% will also be carried out for payments to military personnel (on average +705 UAH), disability pensions for victims of the Chernobyl disaster (+1100 UAH) and additional payments to Ukrainians over the age of 75 (+456-570 UAH).
For those whose pensions are not subject to indexation, a monthly supplement of UAH 1 will be made from March 135.
"From March 1, indexation will be 14%. This will concern 8 million Ukrainians who receive insurance pensions. And also for the first time, according to a new principle, we are increasing military pensions. As a result, half a million more recipients will receive an increase. In addition, starting from March 1, we will establish an additional payment for half a million people who are not subject to indexation, since pensions were assigned to them during the last three years, "Shmygal said.
In addition, according to the government's decision, the so-called social pensions, which were supposed to increase only in December 2022 due to the increase in the living wage, will now be indexed.
