"Expanding the spheres of application of the English language in Ukraine will contribute to the activation of the processes of integration of Ukrainians into the European community within the framework of Ukraine's expected membership in the EU," said Deputy Minister of Culture and Information Policy Rostyslav Karandeev.
According to the draft law, which is planned to be adopted, the following must be proficient in English:
— civil servants, in particular, heads of local administrations;
— officers, military;
— chiefs of the middle and senior ranks of the National Police;
— scientific and pedagogical workers of universities.
