British actor David Prowse, known for his role as Darth Vader in the classic trilogy of the film saga "Star Wars", died at the age of 86. About it acting agency Bowington Management.
"It is with great regret and heartbreaking sadness for us and millions of fans around the world that we announce that our client David Prowse has passed away at the age of 85," the agency's Twitter account wrote.
The actor's agent, Thomas Bowington, also confirmed that Prouse died after a short illness.
David Prowse is a former bodybuilder and weightlifter. Prowse's most famous role is the incarnation of Darth Vader in the original Star Wars trilogy. During filming, Prouse spoke the dialogues of his character, but later his voice was replaced by the voice of James Earl Jones due to a Western accent.
In Britain, Prowse is also famous for playing the role of a superhero called the Green Cross Codex Man.
