As part of the official visit of the President of Ukraine to the State of Qatar, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine and the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Qatar on the mutual recognition of seamen's diplomas/certificates. This is reported on the website of the Cabinet of Ministers.
"In this way, we open a window of new opportunities for the further professional development of our sailors. The memorandum will create a proper legal mechanism for the mutual recognition of seamen's diplomas/certificates between our countries," said Minister of Infrastructure Vladyslav Krykly.
And he noted that the Memorandum will also contribute to the further employment of Ukrainian sailors on Qatari-flagged ships.
In addition, the specified document provides for the regulation of the issue regarding the directions and forms of cooperation between Ukraine and the State of Qatar in the field of maritime transport and education.
