The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine instructed the State Border Service to allow vehicles with license plates of the unrecognized Transnistrian Moldavian Republic from other countries into Ukraine for their return to Moldova from January 24 to February 24.
"During the dialogue about the situation with cars with Transnistrian license plates that could not return to their region by October 1, 2021, as an exception and taking into account the humanitarian aspects of this situation, the Ukrainian authorities allowed the transit of cars through Ukraine from January 24 to February 24", - said in the message of the Cabinet of Ministers.
At the same time, the departure from Ukraine of cars with Transnistrian license plates is permitted in the period from January 24 to April 1.
"The office of the political representative of Tiraspol and the participants in the negotiations in the "5+2" format were notified of the decisions made," the government reported.
As a reminder, on September 1, Ukraine closed its border to cars with Transnistrian registration numbers, including those traveling through its territory in transit. Thus, cars registered in Transnistria cannot go beyond Moldova at all, since Romania also closed the border for such cars earlier. Only Transnistrian cars with neutral model numbers issued by the official Chisinau can drive outside of Moldova.
