A bright action took place near the Russian Embassy in Kyiv

Broken doors are like broken fate.

An action was held in front of the Russian embassy in support of Crimean political prisoners. 11 broken doors were installed there. They symbolize the lives of civilian journalists and Crimean Tatars who were persecuted or imprisoned by the Russian Federation.

"Since the beginning of the temporary occupation of Crimea by Russia, more than a hundred activists, primarily Crimean Tatars, have been persecuted by the new authorities for their civil position. Many of them are already serving sentences ranging from 10 to 20 years for apparently "terrorist" activities. In fact, because they love their family and are not afraid to tell the truth," the organizers of the action note.

The action of support of the Crimean Tatars in Kyiv took place within the framework of the international project "Crimea, 5 Utra". The author of the idea, Oksana Gonchar, said that broken doors are the central visual image of the street performance. According to her, hundreds of Crimean Tatars are constantly waiting for their door to be broken down.

"The special services do not knock on the door, for some reason they always want to knock them out. They do it at five o'clock in the morning - when people are especially defenseless and cannot count on the help of lawyers or publicity in the media," Gonchar said.

During the opening of the installations, excerpts from the play "Crimea, 5 am" were read. Musician Taras Topolya, journalist Yury Makarov, head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov, soloist of the Dakh Daughters group took part in the action.

The action takes place during the week of resistance to the occupation of Crimea. In addition to Kyiv, it will be held in front of the Russian embassies in Warsaw and at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin.
