Moscow called on Washington to abandon the holding of multinational naval military exercises "Sea Breeze 2021" in the Black Sea off the coast of Odessa. This is stated in the message of the Russian Embassy in the USA.
"The scale and obviously aggressive nature of the Sea Breeze scientists do not correspond to the real security challenges in the Black Sea region." They increase the risk of unintended incidents and encourage militaristic sentiments in Kyiv. We strongly urge the United States and its allies to abandon military operations in the Black Sea," the message said.
According to Russian diplomats, "an example of multilateral efforts to maintain peace and stability in the region is the Blackseafor format aimed at strengthening measures of confidence in the sea."
"All emerging problems in this region can be solved by the Black Sea states without "imposing" help from the outside," they assert.
The Black Sea Naval Cooperation Group "Blaxifor" includes Turkey, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Romania, Russia and Georgia.
