Deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine toughened responsibility for committing domestic violence, adopted bill No. 3908-1.

The law stipulates that police officers, military personnel, conscripts and reservists in training, as well as senior staff of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau, private and senior staff of the State Criminal Enforcement Service, the Civil Protection Service, the State Bureau of Investigation, and the police are responsible for committing domestic violence in general grounds However, public works, correctional works, and administrative arrest cannot be applied to them.

"In the event that such persons are brought to justice for committing domestic violence, referral to a program for persons who have committed domestic violence or gender-based violence shall be carried out on general grounds," the draft law states.

The document also states that committing domestic violence entails a fine in the amount of ten to twenty tax-free minimum incomes of citizens (170-340 hryvnias) or community service for a period of thirty to forty hours, or administrative arrest for a period of up to ten days.

A person who has already committed such an offense within a year faces a fine of 20 to 40 NMDH (370-680 hryvnias) or public service for a period of forty to sixty hours, or administrative arrest for a period of up to fifteen days. Let us remind you that a month ago, the law enforcement committee recommended that the parliament finally approve this law.
