The Cabinet of Ministers approved the draft law "On Amendments to Article 11 of the Law of Ukraine On State Awards", which concerns the renaming of the State Prize of Ukraine in the field of science and technology to the National Prize named after Boris Paton. This was reported by the Ministry of Education and Science.
The project of legislative changes is aimed at perpetuating the memory of academician Borys Paton.
In accordance with the Regulations of the Cabinet of Ministers, the bill will be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada.
Information: Boris Paton - state and public figure, president of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, director of the E. Paton Institute of Electric Welding of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Hero of Ukraine, academician. He died at the age of 101 on August 19, 2020.
