The Minister of Defense spoke about changes in the legislation: the end of the era of military enlistments and electronic documents

The adopted law makes changes to 38 laws and five codes of Ukraine

On March 30, deputies of the Verkhovna Rada adopted the Law of Ukraine "On Amendments to Some Legislative Acts of Ukraine Regarding the Improvement of Certain Issues of the Performance of Military Duty and Keeping of Military Accounts." This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

The adopted law makes changes to 38 laws and five codes of Ukraine.

As noted by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Andriy Taran, these changes were developed by the Ministry of Defense together with other departments of the security and defense sector for almost two years. Their adoption became an unprecedented case in the history of independent Ukraine of simultaneous and large-scale revision of the defense legislation. It is also closely related to the implementation of other reforms, in particular, the administrative-territorial reform and the creation of a digital state.

"The end of the era of military recruitment agencies has come. Instead of them, territorial collection centers will operate in Ukraine in accordance with the administrative-territorial structure of the state. In the event of an aggravation of the situation, a few days are now set aside for the resupply of military units, which corresponds to the requirements of the "Military Security Strategy of Ukraine" regarding comprehensive defense. The Unified State Register of Military Conscripts has been created and projects have been started to digitize military accounting processes: E-registration, E-military ticket, E-transport, E-TCC. And this is only the tip of the iceberg," Taran said.

He also emphasized that on the way to reforming the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reserve professionals were added to the existing institute of contract workers - the Institute of Reservists, who will voluntarily sign a contract. The possibility to immediately deploy motivated defenders of Ukraine in the event of a critical threat to the state is legally enshrined in law. What is important, the entire set of social benefits and guarantees provided for those who are mobilized will be extended to such reservists.

"Modern and predictable challenges compel us to modernize the defense system, make it more flexible and able to quickly respond to threats. We keep up with the times, similar models exist in the USA, Finland, the Czech Republic, Israel, Austria, Great Britain, and now also in Ukraine. For our citizens, this means that along with the technical equipment and rearmament of the Armed Forces, the defense organization itself has also improved," Taran added.
