General Director of "Ukrpochta" Igor Smelyansky refuted his words that postmen of Ukrpochta receive 1000 dollars a month. He wrote about it on Facebook.
Smelyansky reminded that at the end of last week his interview with NV.Business was released, where he, in particular, said that some postmen earn up to 1000 dollars and have tips.
"With a salary (including bonuses) of 1000 dollars, I was wrong. The salary of postmen has indeed increased more than twice during my tenure (from $2 to $110+ without bonuses), but it has clearly not yet reached $250. My mistake was that our best (not all) postmen do not receive 1000 dollars (or 1000 UAH), but sell goods and services for this amount per month, and taking into account bonuses, they receive 28-000 thousand hryvnias. Therefore, I apologize if such a quote offended any of the postmen. "We have other working specialties: drivers, couriers, sorters, who actually receive up to 10 dollars and more, but they were not mentioned in the quote," admitted Smelyansky.
He added that over the past 5 years, Ukrposhte has increased the salary of postmen by 2+ times while reducing the volume of their work (letters, newspapers, delivery of pensions) by 15-50%, and added the corresponding schedule.
"Mistakes must be acknowledged, and acknowledged quickly. If you make a mistake, you should try to make 1000 dollars of salary by mistake become a goal for the near future," summarized the head of Ukrpochta.
