The International Airlines of Ukraine significantly reduces its flight schedule for the period from September 1 to October 24, 2020. This was reported by the airline.
The need to revise the schedule was caused, first of all, by the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers to temporarily ban the entry of foreigners and stateless persons into Ukraine.
"This initiative of the government, together with restrictions on the entry of Ukrainians to a number of countries in the world, in the context of the crisis in the airline market, creates sharply negative trends for the work of both UIA and the industry as a whole," the airline said.
Due to the specified restrictions, UIA was forced to quickly cancel a number of flights.
So, since September 14, the following flights have been completely canceled: Kyiv — Zaporozhye (OZH) — Kyiv; Kyiv — Madrid (MAD) — Kyiv; Kyiv — Barcelona (BCN) — Kyiv; Kyiv — Geneva (GVA) — Kyiv; Kyiv — Berlin (TXL) — Kyiv; Kyiv — Chisinau (KIV) — Kyiv;
They also reduced frequencies on the following routes: Kyiv — Odessa (ODS) — Kyiv, Kyiv — Dusseldorf (DUS) — Kyiv, Kyiv — Brussels (BRU) — Kyiv, Kyiv — Tel Aviv (TLV) — Kyiv, Kyiv — Kharkiv (HRK ) — Kyiv, Kyiv — Dnipro (DNK) — Kyiv.
The airline added that the flight schedule may be subject to new changes in the future, taking into account the consequences of border crossing restrictions for Ukrainian and foreign citizens.
