Goncharenko: air traffic with Ukraine may be suspended

Since February 14.

People's Deputy of the European Union Oleksiy Goncharenko announced in his Telegram channel that, most likely, air traffic over Ukraine will be suspended from Monday.

"Most likely, air traffic in Ukraine will be suspended starting tomorrow from 16:00 Kyiv time. One of the largest British insurance companies has already sent out notices that from tomorrow at 14:00 London time (16:00 Kyiv time) the insurance of civil aircraft that are in the airspace of Ukraine will be terminated," Goncharenko wrote.

He claims that the owners of leased planes already prohibit their planes from flying into Ukrainian airspace.

"At the moment, KLM has canceled its flights, Sky Up is already boarding a flight from Funchal to Chisinau, Air France will be banned today," wrote the People's Deputy of Ukraine.

Meanwhile, the plane of the Ukrainian airline SkyUp, which was flying from the Portuguese island of Madeira to Kyiv's Boryspil airport, could not enter the airspace of Ukraine due to the ban of the owner of the aircraft.

The plane took off from Portugal in the evening of February 12 and landed early in the morning at Chisinau airport.

The airline's commentary on the incident states that the Irish company that owns the plane, already at the time of the flight, reported "an immediate ban on entry into the airspace of Ukraine."

A transfer from Chisinau to Kyiv was organized for all passengers of the flight.
