The film "Spas" about the consequences of the war in eastern Ukraine received support from the Swedish Film Institute

The tape is a co-production of Ukraine, Croatia, the Czech Republic and Sweden

The authors of the full-length feature film "Spas", which is in the production stage, announced a new co-production of the film. The film, which became one of the winners of the Eleventh Goskino Competition, was supported by the Swedish Fund Swedish Film Institute. This was reported in the Goskino press service.

"Spas" is a psychological drama about the consequences of the war in Donbass. According to the plot, the soldier Lily with the call sign "Butterfly" returns home after spending two months in captivity. Her husband, mother and other family members are waiting for Lila at home, but not everyone is ready to meet her as she has become. Later, the girl learns that she is pregnant from the one who raped her in captivity.

"The script is completely fictional. But it is inspired by the experiences of real veterans, volunteers, whom I encountered either simply in life or during the production of documentaries," said director Maksym Nakonechny.

The tape "Spas" is a co-production of Ukraine, Croatia, the Czech Republic and Sweden. In October 2020, the project received financial support from the Eurimages Foundation.
