The Armed Forces control all the bridges across the Dnipro in Kherson, so the occupiers will not be able to leave the city, as was the case in Izyum.
About this in an interview with an American publication Fox News said the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov.
He stated that it would be difficult for the occupiers to fight in the streets, as there would be no way out of the city.
"I don't really believe that the Russians will have the opportunity to fight in the streets. Because it is not the best option for them. We control all bridges on the Dnipro River using HIMARS and other artillery. And it is risky for them to stay in Kherson, because then they will not be able to escape, as they did in Izyum," said Reznikov.
The advance of the Armed Forces in the south of Ukraine has currently slowed down due to rainy weather, but Ukrainian defenders continue to liberate territories.
"In the south, we are also continuing our counteroffensive campaign. Now some weather conditions, I mean rain, is slowing us down. But we are using the tactics of taking back our villages, meters and kilometers step by step, and we will continue to do so."
The minister emphasized that the war in Ukraine is currently in the third stage of the gradual liberation of the occupied territories. According to him, the first stage was to stop the Russian army. At the second stage, it was possible to stabilize the situation along the entire front line.
