Ukraine will live in conditions of regular power outages at least until the end of March.
This was reported by the general director of DTEK subholding Yasno Kovalenko in his page on Facebook.
"Energy workers, despite the bad weather, are now trying their best to complete the restoration before even more cold weather. And although there are fewer blackouts now, I want everyone to understand: most likely, Ukrainians will have to live in blackouts until at least the end of March," he said.
According to Kovalenko, there are also different forecasts of the development of this situation, and they completely depend on Russia's attacks.
"The basic scenario is as follows: if there are no new attacks on the power grid, then under the current conditions of electricity generation, the power deficit can be evenly distributed throughout the country. This means that outages will be everywhere, but for less time,” emphasized the director of Yasno.
In a positive scenario, as Kovalenko suggests, no new attacks occur, the previous level of generation returns. Then we will likely have enough electricity to avoid blackouts altogether.
"It will be negative if the network is badly damaged by attacks. Then we will have to use not only hourly stabilization shutdowns, but also emergency shutdowns, during which there may be no light for a very long time," Kovalenko added.
The general director of the subholding added that it is necessary to be ready for various options, even the worst ones. Stock up on warm clothes, blankets, think of options that will help you wait out a long shutdown. It is better to do it now than to complain and blame someone later. Moreover, we all know who is really to blame.
"I'm sure we'll make it!" - concluded Kovalenko.
