An explosion occurred in one of the apartments on the third floor in the Poltava high-rise building on Kvituchii Street. According to the latest information, there are no three injured victims.
This was reported to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
"On August 6, at 22:15, the Rescue Service "101" received a message that in one of the apartments on the 3rd floor of a nine-story building on the street There was an explosion in Kvituchi, Poltava, followed by the destruction of structures. Interfloor slabs between the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors, interior partitions in the apartment where the incident happened were damaged. As a result of the explosion, 3 people were injured, 2 of whom were hospitalized. 7 people were rescued, 2 people with disabilities were evacuated and handed over to medics." - it is stated in the message of the department.
The police are establishing the circumstances of the explosion in the apartment building.
Residents of the building where the explosion occurred were evacuated. In the course of conducting primary investigative actions, it was established that a tourist gas cylinder with a volume of about 8 liters exploded between two apartments on the third floor.
As a result of the explosion, the 73-year-old owner of the gas cylinder, his 72-year-old wife and their 44-year-old neighbor were injured. The medics admitted the victims with burns of various degrees and injuries to the hospital. It was also established that several apartments of the residential building were damaged as a result of the explosion.
Police investigators have started criminal proceedings according to part 1 of Article 270 (Violation of fire or man-made safety requirements established by law, if it caused a fire or an accident causing damage to people's health or large property damage) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Investigations are ongoing.
