Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, commander of the operational and strategic group of troops "Tavria". informed CNN that Ukrainian soldiers broke through the defenses in Verbovo, Zaporizhzhia region.
The general leading the counteroffensive of Ukrainian troops on the southern front said that the troops had broken through the defenses in Verbovo — and predicted an even bigger breakthrough in the future.
"On the left flank [under Verbov] we have a breakthrough, and we continue to advance further. Not as fast as expected, not like in the movies about the Second World War... The main thing is not to lose this initiative (which we have). And, well, not to lose it in practice, actions."
CNN write, that the Russians are reporting a different situation in that location. However, analysis of videos from open sources by journalists shows that some Ukrainian units "crossed an important line of Russian defense" near the village of Verbove.
