The police detained a person suspected of killing a serviceman, which happened on Shevchenko Avenue in the city of Podilsk on March 8. The man, a resident of the Odesa region, temporarily lived in the district center. This is reported by the National State Police in the Odesa region.
The body of the soldier, born in 1989, was discovered by passers-by with signs of violent death. The police quickly started an investigation and carried out a number of measures, as a result of which the suspect was found and detained.
According to information from the police, the attacker admitted his guilt. The figure was detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and placed in a temporary detention facility. Currently, the issue of notifying him of the suspicion of intentionally unlawfully causing the death of another person and choosing a preventive measure is being resolved.
The offender is liable to imprisonment for a term of seven to fifteen years.
