"At the moment, it is known that Ukrainian crews and two SkyUp aircraft were working in Sudan under wet leasing conditions. This is a Boeing 737-800 with the numbers UR-SQA and UR-SQH," the message reads. 
SkyUp noted that it is currently known about the activation of an emergency radio buoy on one of the two planes of the SkyUp airline located at the airport in the city of Khartoum. It is currently impossible to determine the condition of the aircraft and possible damage.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine also denied information about the capture of Ukrainian hostages.

"During the aggravation of the situation, members of the Ukrainian aviation crew were at Khartoum International Airport. This group of people managed to be taken out. They are now in a safe place. They are taken care of by the Ukrainian Honorary Consul in Sudan. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Ukraine in Egypt are keeping the issue of security of Ukrainian citizens in Sudan under special control," the ministry said.

It is added that SkyUp aircraft are in Sudan under an ACMI contract with Sun Air. From the beginning of 2023, they operated flights to Cairo (Egypt), Riyadh and Jeddah (Saudi Arabia).

SkyUp Airlines commented on the incident.

As the representatives of the air carrier reported, after the start of hostilities in the capital of Sudan, an emergency radio beacon was activated on one of the two Ukrainian planes that are at the airport of the city of Khartoum.

"At the moment, it is impossible to establish the condition of the aircraft and possible damage. 36 of our employees are currently in Sudan. They are in a relatively safe place, there is a connection with them," the company informed.
