For the first time since the beginning of the war, the USA will hand over satellite communication complexes for the military to Ukraine.
Deputy Speaker of the Pentagon Sabrina Singh said this at a briefing on October 28, Voice of America reports.
Systems for satellite communication are part of a new package of military aid in the amount of $275 million, which will be promptly transferred to Ukraine under the powers of US President Joseph Biden. According to Sabrina Singh, the Ukrainian military will receive four satellite antennas, which will allow maintaining communication on the battlefield even during power outages.
"We see Russian attacks on Ukraine's power grids and infrastructure, and these antennas provide additional capabilities on the ground at a critical time when strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure are taking place," the Pentagon spokeswoman said.
