Yulia Tymoshenko: In the budget for 2023, it is necessary to foresee expenses for the restoration of housing

The protection of Ukraine's critical infrastructure and energy system is a critically important area of government work

Local authorities, especially in frontline cities, cannot take care of people who need to repair their houses as a result of Russian aggression. The state should allocate funds for this. Likewise, the task of the state is to protect critical infrastructure facilities as much as possible. On this stressed Yulia Tymoshenko on the air of the "Edyny Novyni" information telethon.

She said that in the coming days she will hold working meetings with the prime minister and government officials and will insist on the allocation of a separate item of expenses in the state budget for next year for the protection of people who live in an extremely critical situation and are actually on the verge of survival.

"What I saw when I visited Nikopol and Marganets with the humanitarian mission was broken windows, missing windows and doors, and damaged roofs in almost all the houses. But local budgets do not have a single penny to make these repairs, and neither do the people. Therefore, I intend to immediately hold negotiations with the government and immediately allocate a financial resource in the State Budget to such front-line cities in order to carry out repairs and give people the opportunity to live in their homes," said Yulia Tymoshenko.

Another critically important direction of the government's work, according to Tymoshenko, is the protection of Ukraine's critical infrastructure and energy system.

"I would like us to review the budget - both for this year and for the next - and "extract" from it all possible financial resources for the purchase of air defense systems in order to qualitatively protect the most critical infrastructure facilities from enemy air attacks," she emphasized head of the Batkivshchyna party.

Yulia Tymoshenko also added that the transformer substations on which the Russian Federation launches missile strikes can be protected by special concrete structures. And in general, in order for Ukraine's energy system to survive, Ukrainians will have to limit their electricity consumption.
