The United States announced the allocation of a new package of weapons and equipment to support Ukraine, this is reported in message US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.
"This package, which uses the limited resources that remain available for assistance to Ukraine, provides up to $175 million in arms and equipment, subject to previously planned cuts," — he informed.
The new package includes:
- means of anti-aircraft defense;
- additional munitions for HIMARS systems, artillery ammunition, high-velocity anti-radiation missiles and anti-tank missiles;
- ammunition for small arms;
- explosive munitions for clearing obstacles;
- spare parts and auxiliary equipment.
"If Congress does not approve the president's request for additional funding, this will be one of the last security assistance packages we can provide to Ukraine. Helping Ukraine defend against Russian aggression advances our national security interests and contributes to global stability around the world, and we need Congress to act immediately.”, Blinken emphasized.
Later, the Pentagon published details of the new package from the USA. It contained:
- air defense missiles AIM-9M and AIM-7;
- additional ammunition for HIMARS missile and artillery systems;
- 155 mm and 105 mm caliber artillery shells;
- high-speed anti-radiation missiles HARMs;
- TOW anti-tank guided missiles;
- Javelin and AT-4 anti-tank complexes;
- more than 4 million cartridges for small arms.
