The minister expressed hope that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will launch a counteroffensive within the specified period.
The head of the Ministry of Defense, Oleksiy Reznikov, said that by the end of the year, "serious changes" will take place on the battlefield, which will bring success to Ukrainian forces.
"By the end of this year, there will be serious changes on the battlefield in favor of Ukraine. I hope that this year we will see a counter-campaign and that it will be successful," said Reznikov.
According to Reznikov, the representatives of the Western countries assured him that they will give Ukraine HIMARS projectiles capable of hitting targets at a distance of 300 km.
He said this in an interview with the Financial Times.
"I think it's a gradual movement. We are giving them proof that we can use HIMARS with precision, and we will get even longer and longer range," Reznikov said.
