The spokesman of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Yuriy Ignat, urged to look at official sources, in particular, regarding the information that Denmark will delay deliveries of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine for six months.
This was announced by Yuriy Ignat on the air of the telethon.
"Let's look at the website of the Ministry of Defense of Denmark. There are no statements. The publication refers to some of its sources... Of course, it is not simple," — he declared.
According to him, the Ukrainian state is rapidly preparing for the transfer of Western F-16 fighter jets and added that the Ukrainian military is going through the training process in an extremely fast time.
"No other state has ever passed this way. Ukraine was given the green light, Ukraine is doing it at an accelerated pace. Therefore, what are the sources there and what is happening there, I cannot confirm to you, because it is not revealed too much. Let's look at the official sources. Are the partners saying something? They do not declare. There is no need to make this a disaster or a betrayal." - emphasized Ignat.
He added that Ukraine has a gradual action plan that is being implemented.
"Pilots are studying. I would like to get the planes by the end of the year (ed.), but we were already talking about the "spring" deadline... Infrastructure is being prepared in Ukraine, pilot training is ongoing. It makes no sense to deliver planes to Ukraine until the end of last year. For what? That they stand here?", - an Air Force spokesman said.
Today, a Danish newspaper reported with reference to the Danish Ministry of Defense that the delivery of F-16 fighter jets has been delayed for six months.
