Details of the official visit

Today, April 5, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and First Lady Olena Zelenska began an official visit to Poland. The program of the visit includes, in particular, negotiations with President Andrzej Duda, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, signing of bilateral documents.

In addition to Zelenskyi's talks with President Duda, talks with Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki are also planned, as a result of which bilateral documents will be signed.

Zelenskyi will also meet with representatives of Polish business within the framework of the Ukrainian-Polish business forum, with marshals of the Sejm and Senate, volunteers and rescue workers, as well as with mayors of cities bordering Ukraine.

The presidents of Ukraine and Poland spoke at a joint briefing.

"It is a great joy to be able to congratulate today in Warsaw on behalf of the Republic of Poland Mr. President Volodymyr Zelenskyi together with his wife Olena Zelenska. And I want to express with all my might, emphasize my gratitude to the president and his wife, because this is the first official visit of the president and his wife to other countries since the Russian aggression. During this year, there were no official visits by the presidential couple, that's understandable, and I'm very glad that the first country you visited was Poland, that it was Warsaw. Thank you very much for this presence," said Andrzej Duda.

During the visit, Polish President Andrzej Duda presented Zelensky with the Order of the White Eagle — the highest award in Poland. The president of Ukraine received it for his services in deepening relations between Poland and Ukraine, security activities, stability in the protection of human rights.

Zelenskyi discussed strengthening the Ukrainian army with Duda

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi and the President of Poland Andrzej Duda during the negotiations in Warsaw touched on the issue of strengthening the Ukrainian army.

"We discussed strengthening our army. And this is very important. I thank you that today we discussed and made a decision, and will continue to discuss with the Prime Minister, regarding a powerful package that will strengthen our people," Zelenskyi said at a joint briefing with Duda in Warsaw.

Zelenskyi also thanked the Ukrainian defenders who defend Ukraine at the front.

He also emphasized that an important page in relations between the countries will be the reconstruction of Ukraine, which will strengthen relations between Ukrainian and Polish businesses.

Ukraine will receive 8 MiG-29 fighters from Poland.

Of them, 4 have already been transferred recently, 4 more are being prepared for sending. This was stated by the President of Poland Andrzej Duda at a joint press conference with Volodymyr Zelenskyi in Warsaw.

According to him, the case will most likely not be limited to these planes, and Poland will continue to transfer its old planes to Ukraine.

"We are ready, I talked about it with the president [of Ukraine], to hand over six more, which are currently being prepared for this. We assume that they can be transferred quite quickly," said Duda.

The most difficult situation at the front remains in Bakhmut, Donetsk region

Volodymyr Zelenskyi declares that the most difficult situation at the front remains in Bakhmut, Donetsk region, but the enemy does not control the city. The president said this at a joint briefing with Polish President Andrzej Duda in Warsaw.

"The most difficult situation on the territory of our state is right there (in Bakhmut - UNIAN). The greatest use of the number of different weapons is there. There is a very, very complicated story. And there is a daily shortage: sometimes there is artillery, sometimes there are enough shells on our side, sometimes there are fewer of them. There is success in some blocks of Bakhmut - we go forward, then there is no success - we retreat to our positions again. This happens every day. But we are in Bakhmut and the enemy does not control Bakhmut. This is the situation today," he said.

Zelenskyi reminded that the situation in Bakhmut is personally monitored by the commander of the Ground Forces, Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrskyi. According to the head of state, the main thing for Syrsky is the preservation of personnel.

Zocrama, Zelensky once again thanked the Polish people and personally the President and Prime Minister of Poland for brotherhood and support.

"Ukraine is a warm, friendly country, but in this war it is uncompromising. Uncompromising in the fact that we will not give up our land, our freedom, we will not give up our children, not a single child who was forcibly deported by the Russians to the Russian Federation. We will not give up any of this and we will not give up our independence," he emphasized.

The President also added that Ukraine is uncompromising in friendship and considers Poland not only a partner, but a true friend forever.

"I would also like to say and convey to all our partners, who are constantly looking for compromises for Ukraine on the way to NATO, that Ukraine will be uncompromising on this issue as well," he added.

In the future, there will be no borders between our peoples, - Zelenskyi about his visit to Poland

"In the future, there will be no borders between our peoples: political, economic and - what is very important - historical. But for that you still need to win. For this, we need to walk side by side a little more," said the president.
