Banks will be able to additionally sell cash currency to the population in the amount of half of the purchased non-cash currency.
On July 27, the National Bank of Ukraine allowed banks to sell in the cash segment half of the non-cash currency purchased from citizens from April 13, 2022. This was reported in the press service of the National Bank.
"The appropriate decision should increase the supply in the cash segment of the foreign exchange market and, with the rest, affect the weakening of devaluation pressure. At the same time, additional pressure on the NBU's international reserves as a result of banks' use of this permission will be moderate and controlled," the regulator said.
