In the Bilyaiv community of the Odesa region, local deputy Serhiy Bilyuk wrote a parliamentary appeal to the head of the community with a proposal to redirect budget funds from various celebrations to support military families.
"Every year, our Bilyaiv City Council allocates and spends significant funds on various celebrations - it is Community Day, village birthdays, etc. But in the conditions of the Russian-Ukrainian war, spending money on fun is unreasonable and causes righteous indignation among people," the deputy said.
Serhii Bilyuk, in his address to the head of the Bilyaiv community, Mykhailo Bukhtiyarov, suggests that all funds allocated for holding various celebrations in the community should be redirected to support the families of soldiers who are on the front lines, wounded at the front, and to help the families of fallen heroes.
According to the deputy, the local government should help people as much as possible. "It cannot be that a soldier, who was wounded in the battles for Ukraine, with an outstretched hand collects for his treatment, while at this time the community spends money on celebrations. We must, first of all, take care of these people, and we will return to the celebrations after our Victory."
