Moldovagaz began to purchase gas from SA Energocom for consumption on the right bank of the Dniester, thus the country became independent from Russia's Gazprom
As the Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development of the country Andrii Spinu reported
"For the first time in the history of our country, the right bank will not consume gas supplied by Gazprom. Since last year, we have promised to create reserves and find alternatives to stop being dependent on one source. We have achieved this," he wrote.
In December, "Moldovagaz" will purchase about 100 million cubic meters of gas from the state-owned enterprise "Energocom" at an average price of $1108 per 1000 cubic meters.
"It is important that the tariff will not change after this decision. Citizens will continue to receive support, and we will survive this winter well," stressed Andriy Spinu.
Also, the government of Moldova will continue to increase gas reserves for the coming months, and, according to the minister, the tariff for consumers will remain unchanged.
