The captain of the cargo ship "HAKSA", sailing under the flag of Respublika Palau, did not have time to brake and allowed the bow of the ship to collide with berth No. 18.
It was reported that the ship was sailing from the Turkish port of Gebze. There is no information about the victims.
The management of SE "MTP "Chernomorsk" denied the information about the fault of tugboats of the port fleet in the accident with the ship crashing into the pier.
"The crews of tugboats of the port fleet acted correctly. Now it is generally premature to talk about who is to blame for this emergency, as the investigation of what happened is underway. The investigation is being conducted by the captaincy of the Black Sea Fleet of State Enterprise "AMPU", said the director of the port Alexander Popov.
The vessel "HAKSA" was launched in 1993. Its deadweight is 3092 tons, the current draft is 6 meters. The length overall (LOA) is 86,4 meters and the width is 14,54 meters.
