The World Bank will allocate 2,5 billion hryvnias to Ukraine for the project "Emergency Response to Covid-19 and Vaccination in Ukraine".

Deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine Svetlana Shatalova informed about this during an online briefing on January 21.

"Ukraine will receive another shipment and funds for the purchase of a vaccine against Covid-19. This time, assistance and support is provided by the World Bank. Almost UAH 2,5 billion is planned to be allocated to the new project "Emergency response to Covid-19 and vaccination in Ukraine". Corresponding negotiations have been held between the Board of Executive Directors of the World Bank and the Government of Ukraine since December last year," said Shatalova.

According to her, as part of the preparation of the project, the vaccination strategy approved by the Ministry of Health will be taken into account, which will give priority to the groups with the greatest risk, promote the effective use of limited resources, and involve information technologies.
