At a meeting on Wednesday, April 21, the government extended the state of emergency in Ukraine until June 30.
"The emergency situation primarily concerns the state authorities and their constant readiness to counter the pandemic. At the same time, this is another reminder to all Ukrainians that we must remain circumspect and cautious. After all, the health and life of our loved ones depends on it," said Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
He noted that especially such vigilance and a conscious attitude are necessary during the May holidays and Easter.
"These days, we urge people to stay at home," the prime minister said.
"Mass gatherings of people on Easter can lead to a new wave of illness. Only our caution, compliance with anti-epidemic rules and vaccination will be able to stop the virus," Shmyhal added.
