The head of the Ministry of Health Maksym Stepanov answered whether the Ministry of Health will recommend strict quarantine restrictions for the May holidays, in particular, for Easter. He told about this in the "Today Tonight" program on the "Ukraine 24" channel.
He noted that it is important to comply with the current restrictions.
"Of course, there will be a special regime. We will appeal to citizens about limiting contacts, large gatherings of people. British and South African strains are very aggressive, the course of the disease is very severe." - he said.
At the same time, the authorities do not yet plan to close churches on Easter. The decision on the format and list of restrictions on holidays in the Ministry of Health is expected to be made within a week.
For this, negotiations are underway with religious organizations and leaders. But, according to Stepanov's colleague, Viktor Lyashko, chief health practitioner of Ukraine, this will be a "difficult dialogue."
"Currently, there are already restrictions for churches and temples, if they are located in the "yellow" or "red" zones. But I will surely ask the clergy to relax the restrictions for the Easter period." - says the chief sanatorium.
"We want someone to be in the temple, but with observance of all restrictions, and someone must stay outside. Plus, we need the Easter format online, which was last year", - said Lyashko
