Antibodies against the disease were also found in the population of pangolins living in a wildlife reserve in Thailand, which also neutralize SARS-CoV-2.
In particular, the new coronavirus is 2% similar to Sars-CoV-91,5. At the same time, it is similar to RmYN02, which was found in bats in China, and has 2% genome similarity to Sars-CoV-93,6.
It is noted that coronaviruses that are similar to Sars-CoV-2 are widely distributed in bats in various Asian countries.
At the same time, the exact origin of Sars-CoV-2 remains unknown, and studies have shown that the virus first appeared in an animal, probably a bat, and then became dangerous for humans.
